ANNOUNCING - '2014 AUSSIE 12 MONTH NOTE CARD SWAP'

Hi There Blogging Friends.  After a successful year of swapping Tags with fellow Aussie's, I've decided to host another swap for 2014.

The 2014 swap will be 'Note Cards'.  Each participant will create one Note Card a month to the theme.  The idea is; that by the end of the year everyone in the swap will have a nice collection of note cards to use for mailing to family and friends.  All the information is at the top of the page under the heading 'Aussie 12 MONTH Note Card Swap - 2014" and will be for Australians only.

The photo's of cards in this post have been drawn from Pinterest.

Aren't they lovely.  What about  joining in and creating some of the cards that you've always wanted to make.  Our first three subjects are;

January 2014 - 'Hello Birdy'
February2014 - 'Bold and Bright'
March 2014 - 'Steampunk'

Check the rest out at the top of the page!!!

To sign up; EMAIL ME you will find the link in my profile!  Closing date for sign ups is Saturday 30th November at 5.00pm.

A Painful Journey But Still Crafting

Hi There blogging friends!  It has been quite awhile since I have been able to do a post due to having to have knee replacement surgery on my right knee.  All I can say is it is one big "ouch" with weeks and weeks of crippling pain while you try to learn how to walk again. Unfortunately; I will only just get over this one and I will have to go back in to have the other knee done, so there isn't much else happening in my life at present. However; during this time I made a special easel card for my aunty and uncle who celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary.  My mother is on the left and my aunty is on the right of the picture.

Next is a canvas I have just completed.  Love the butterflies flying freely.

Then; my September Aussie Yearly Tag Swap 'Peace" and

my September Tag 'Falling Leaves' for my overseas swap at 'The Altered Place'.

October's Aussie 12 month Tag Swap 'Time' and

The Altered Place October Swap......'Witches'

Blogger is still far from being a best friend.   Can't seem to operate it these days!

Here's the Full Peek!

Hi Again!  My swap partner Diane has let me know that she received her Aussie Tag Swap tag for the month of August - 'The Great Outdoors'.  So here it is!

My tag was inspired by the song which had a line that went..... "up down pedal, up, up down...gotta getta across to the other side of town".......do you remember it?  I can't remember the title but that line is humming around in my head on repeat mode....lol!  I am loving the little birdie paper clip that I used to hold the mini tag on.

Still Crafting!

Hi There Blogging Friends!  I am still  having enormous problems with using Blogger, and have only just managed to get this post up. I've been working on Mixed Media Canvas Art over the past few weeks. Below is one of the finished ones with the theme 'Butterfly Garden' and the following picture is a sneek peek of one I have just completed for publication.

This tag is my 'Vintage and Lace' tag for my partner in the Altered Place Swap for August.  I loved creating this one.

and this pic is a sneak peek of my 'Great Outdoors' tag for my Aussie 12 months of Tags swap for August.  My partner should have it soon.

Now I am up to date - July Tag Swapping

Here are pics of this months swap tags.  The subject for my Aussie 12 months of  Tags for July is; 'Beauty of  a Tree'.  My swap partner Elaine decided to send me a "money tree".....there is no arguement that it would be a beautiful tree to have in my back yard.  Thankyou Elaine!

Below is the tag I sent to Tanya.  The background is done with alcohol inks; which was my first effort with the product.  I enjoyed it so much that I just couldn't stop playing with them.  The following pic is a card where I also did the background with alcohol inks.  The tree's are embossed with two different embossing colours.

Tag Swapping Catch Up No:2

Here are my June Swaps.  The first tag is the one I did for my partner Elysia in Canada for the June 'Altered Place' Tag Swap.  The subject was 'Everything is coming up Roses'.

Below is the tag I made for Elaine in my Aussie 12 months of tag swap for June.  The subject was; 'Queen for a Day'.  This sweet girl reminded my of  Princess Diana and if there was anyone I would wish to be Queen for a Day, it would be her.

Below is Tanya's tag which I received as her interpretation of 'Queen for a Day'.  Wasn't it a clever idea to think of the Queen of the Cards?   I love the way the girls in my Aussie 12 months of Tags swap are stretching their imaginations and creating such different tags.

Also; in June I made a giant tag for a birthday swap in my local Papercraft Artists group.  We all celebrate our birthdays in the same month and swap a tag of any shape or size.  I had a great time creating this cute house.  I've only recently purchased the window die and I love it!

Tag Swapping Catch Up

Hi There Blogging Friends! I am just about beside myself with the frustration that I am having with trying to post to my blog. Things just are not working for me anymore.  I'ts the absolute pits and is preventing me from posting. I've been trying to get a post up here all day and even now it is sloppy and full of frustration.  My curser keeps freezing to the one spot...just will not relocate, the Post Setting dialogue box is open and won't close and the screen won't scroll down.  I am so disappointed as I "used to " love posting to my blog when we had the old styling.  One more day like this and it will be goodby blogging from me!
Below are some of the lovely tags I have swapped over the past few months.
The first gorgeous tag of mother and daughter was sent from  Diane in my Aussie 12 months of tags swap for the Month of May, and the subject was 'Remember Me"....just beautiful!

The tag below was received from Vicki in our Aussie 12 months of tags April Swap.  The subject was 'Red Poppies". Just love the way Vicki has created a jigsaw pattern.  I feel it demonstrates the broken lives of  those who have served our country.

The following two tags are my Red Poppies and Remember Me sujects that I sent to the girls.

Tag Swapping for May

Hi There Blogging Friends!  Our theme in The Altered Paper Tag Swap (USA) for May was 'Floral Bouquet'.  So; I decided to create this mixed media tag for my partner Amy.
The lace is hand dyed....isn't it pretty??

My Aussie Tag Swap theme for May is 'Remember Me' as a tribute to all the wonderful Mothers in the world.  Here is a sneak peek of my tag.  Can you guess what the white bar is in the top left hand corner ??

Will show you what it is when my partner Vicki receives it.

Sewing & Tag Making

Hi There Blogging Friends!  As always; life is hectic, but I have still managed to do some sewing for my local craft group and to make tags for the two tag swaps I'm in all year.
Firstly; here is my tag for my own 'Aussie 12 months of Tags' - month of April.
Our Subject was 'Red Poppies' as a tribute to fallen soldiers in world wars.

Next up, is the tag I made for my USA partner in 'The Altered Paper' 12 month Tag Swap.  The subject was the letter A, so I thought my friend overseas would enjoy being watched over by a sweet Angel...

such and Angelic face could only play gentle music.....

Next are pics of my sewing efforts for a new theme in our local craft shop.  The theme for mothers day was gifts in mauve, purple and teal green colours.

I made this "Memory Cushion" as a main item in the display.  It has a pocket to pop special photo's in, which I thought any Mother would love....

The ladies in the photo are my Grandmother on my Mothers side and one of my Aunties....both deceased now but still dearly loved.

Then; I just went super practical with some cute little pin cushions....

some glasses cases....

and some mug hugs!

Aussie Tag Swap for March

Hi There Blogging Friends!  I am late with this blog post thanks to an unusal problem with my camera.  It all revolved around new re-chargeable batteries which seemed to corrupt the download system from camera to computer.  I've finally got around it by using some older software, but still have to work out how to fix it. Anyway; I wanted to show you our darling Aussie 12 months of Tags Swap for the month of March, so here they are.....I chose this  vintage image of a girl with her bunnies and kept my tag in the softer tones..isn't she gorgeous;

and here is the vibrant tag I received from my partner  Elaine (yes, it was Elaine and not Tanya..got it the wrong way round, as I sent mine to Tanya...phew!)......gosh I love it Elaine!

February Aussie Swap Tag & Card Making Fun

Hi There Blogging Friends!  Oh what a gorgeous February tag I received from my Aussie partner Tanya in our 12 month long tag swap. Take a look at the beautiful colours and the details for our subject "Love".

I've also been making some cards and trying hard to keep them simple but elegant.  I relied on my lovely 'Stampin' Up' Butterfly Stamp Set and Punch to get the look with these cards below...

Pretty aren't they??

Here are some more, where I've tried to keep the stamping simple and let the papers do some work.
